From the Pastor’s Pen Praise ye the LORD. Praise, O ye servants of the LORD, praise the name of the LORD. Blessed be the name of the LORD from this time forth and for evermore. From the rising of the sun unto the going down of the same the LORD’S name is to be praised. The LORD is high above all nations, and his glory above the heavens. Who is like unto the LORD our God, who dwelleth on high, Psalm 113:1-5 This morning as I walked into our sanctuary to gather a few things I felt constrained to pause and just thank the Lord for His goodness and mercy. God has blessed us with a great week. Three more precious souls have been added to our church, two of which we baptized Sunday. I must confess it was a hard weekend in that our Evangelist Billy Holbrook and I attended and preached at the Bible Conference hosted by the Winton Place Baptist Church on Thursday and Friday. We then attended “Faith Fest” on Saturday hosted by the Salem Missionary Baptist Church. Pastor Wilder and his staff did an outstanding job as usual and our young people had a great time. Not long after I came back from prayer in the sanctuary pastor Joe Head called to tell me that his deacon, bother Duncan had surrendered to preach. Wow! What a blessing to hear this news. He went on to say that the Conference which was in support of Antioch Baptist College was a tremendous blessing to the church there at Winton Place. I am so happy to hear this, since this is the very first Conference in which they hosted, what a great way to get started. I am reminded by the Word of God mentioned above that praise should be the products of His servants. Praising His name should be the endeavor of our life. However, I realize that not every week is filled with such good news, sometimes we face difficult times, but even those times can produce an opportunity to praise the Lord if you will only seek it. If praise has not become a daily habit of yours in spite of your circumstances then why not “Bless the name of the Lord from this time forth and for evermore?” The psalmist goes on to say that “From the rising of the sun unto the going down of the same the Lord’s name is to be praised.” Have you praised Him today? Remember, it is the Lord who “is high above all nations, and his glory above the heavens.” “Who is like unto our God?” God has lifted this poor man out of the dust many times. Ps 63:3 Because thy lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee. Ps 71:23 My lips shall greatly rejoice when I sing unto thee; and my soul, which thou hast redeemed. Take some time out this week and delight in the Lord. Set aside some time from your busy schedules and bless His holy name. Too many are trying to micromanage their lives to the point that God is just another number of their “to do” list. “The Lord hath been mindful of us… he will bless them that fear the Lord, both small and great.” Spend some time with the Lord this week and ask what you can do for His kingdom’s sake. You have a great church keep involved and do all you can for His glory. Remember this, when you are not here, I truly miss you! “O taste and see that the Lord is good.” Suggested scripture reading this week: • • Building and Battling, Pastor Cliff Christman Trinity Missionary Baptist Church Richmond, KY.
